Ten Years And Counting

A Message From David Garic As We Celebrate our Tenth Anniversary

Over the past decade I've met and worked with thousands of leaders from industries and organizations ranging from police departments to worldwide logistics, to heavy and commercial construction companies, to nonprofits, to health care, and real estate development, just to name a few.   To those companies and their leaders I am grateful, grateful to them for allowing and trusting me to play a role in the development, training, coaching, and growth of one of their most precious resources, their leaders.

Admittedly, I've been pretty busy over the past ten years since leaving the Army with standing up and growing a company that started out with just an idea--the idea that good companies want to get better, they want to be great companies.  And one of the ways they believe they become great is with great leaders.  I found that a lot of companies agree with me and together we've made some great strides with those companies.

The inspiration for The Leader's Playbook began during my time in the military when I came across an army leader by the name of Al DiBella.  Colonel DiBella, commanding an army tank battalion at the time had developed what he called a "playbook," a concise collection of maneuver tactics he used with great success at the Army's National Training Center, in Ft. Irwin California.  What has always stayed with me about the playbook was its simplicity, its brevity, and its clarity.  Colonel DiBella was able to simplify the complexities of Army warfighting doctrine or theory into something every member of his 600+ soldier organization could understand and remember--and, what's equally as important-they could do it under the pressure and stress of battlefield conditions.

The Leader's Playbook has a similar purpose.  Let's face it, there's a new leadership mousetrap invented every month or so.  The Leader's Playbook has two primary purposes.  One, it separates fact from fiction.  We'll let you know what works, and likewise what doesn't work.    Second, The Leader's Playbook distills and simplifies what could otherwise be a very complex and confusing endeavor.  We'll talk about what really motivates people, what science tells us that can help, some of the tougher situations you might face as a leader and along the way we'll share with you our experiences in helping thousands of leaders to be better than good and more like great!  I hope you enjoy it and oh by the way, if you do, please let others know about it.   I invite you to take a page, or two, from The Leader's Playbook!

Been There, Done That

A Message from the Founder of The Leader's Playbook™

After nearly three decades of developing leaders in organizations and leading people in organizations, I created The Leader's Playbook™ for leaders who want answers to the challenges they face every day.  Think of it as a ready-reference for anyone who wants to become a better, more effective, more influential leader.

In The Leader's Playbook™ you will learn the truth about leading:  What works, what doesn't, and why.  We'll explode some of the myths about what good leadership is and is not.  Most importantly, we'll steer you away from the theoretical stuff and focus more on how leadership unfolds out there in the real world.

Visit The Leader's Playbook™ often.  There will always be new and interesting topics we'll explore.
